Ever wonder why rainbows are easiest to see right after it rains? This is because there are still many water particles in the air to catch the sunlight and the contrast from dark clouds makes a perfect background. During such conditions, it is also common to see a second, but fainter, rainbow where the colour order of the bands is inversed.
