This Activated Carbon PM2.5 filter can be inserted into the inner pocket of a cloth mask to increase its filtering performance. It has five-layer filter protection and is good for up to 12 hours of use.
What are PM2.5 filters made of?
Layers 1 and 5 are the anti-sticking cloth layers and are made of spun-bound polyester material that filters out larger particles. Layer 3 (middle) is the activated carbon layer, this layer traps particulate matter via an adhesion process. Layers 2 and 4 are the high-efficiency filter cloth layer and are made of melt-blown nonwoven polypropylene that can filter small substances.
Since the filter is constructed with symmetrical layers it does not matter which way the PM2.5 faces, however, we recommend that you always use the same side facing out if you are using the filter multiple times.
